The Most Complex Night in New York
December 31 in New York requires a level of advance planning that makes it unlike any other engagement we execute during the year. Times Square road closures begin at 6pm and extend to Fifth Avenue, Seventh Avenue, and Broadway from 34th Street to 59th Street. Hotel arrivals in the Plaza, The Mark, The Pierre, and The Carlyle — all north of the closure zone — must be timed precisely. Restaurants with private rooms hosting NYE dinners, particularly in the West Village, SoHo, and TriBeCa, require pre-planned approach routes that avoid the midtown NYPD barrier perimeter entirely.
The FFGR NYE Protocol
FFGR USA begins NYE planning in November with each confirmed client. We map your evening: departure point, dinner venue, any Times Square-adjacent event, and your final destination at midnight (or whenever you prefer to conclude). We then build your chauffeur's routing schedule hour by hour, accounting for the progressive closure pattern that NYPD implements from 4pm through midnight. We have tested this routing every year since 2015 — and we have never delivered a principal late on New Year's Eve.
Midnight Positioning
For principals who wish to observe the Times Square Ball Drop from a private setting — a rooftop terrace, a hotel suite on Broadway, or the Bryant Park Hotel's restaurant — FFGR coordinates your vehicle to be positioned and ready for departure within 15 minutes of midnight, after the peak pedestrian mass has cleared the 42nd Street corridor. We do not attempt midnight departures from Times Square during the drop: we position you for departure at 12:15am, which is consistently faster than 12:01am.
Booking New Year's Eve
NYE engagements fill by October 15 for Rolls-Royce and Bentley vehicles, and by November 15 for the broader fleet. We do not hold vehicles without a deposit. Contact your FFGR client manager or WhatsApp in October to secure your December 31 chauffeur. A flat rate applies for NYE: $2,400 for the evening (6pm through 2am), all-inclusive, for Rolls-Royce Phantom or Ghost. Bentley Flying Spur from $1,800.
