The Friday Afternoon Problem
Leaving Manhattan for East Hampton on a Friday after 3pm in summer takes between three and five hours by car. The Long Island Expressway becomes a parking lot. The Sunrise Highway is no better. Every Hamptons regular has tried every shortcut and concluded that the only acceptable solution is to fly over the traffic entirely.
FFGR USA coordinates direct helicopter transfers from the Manhattan heliports (East 34th, West 30th, Wall Street) to East Hampton Airport (HTO) on AW139 or S-76 aircraft. Total wheels-up to wheels-down: 22 to 28 minutes depending on weather routing. Total door-to-door including ground transfer at both ends: 60 minutes.
The FFGR Ground-Air-Ground Standard
FFGR coordinates three elements as a single transfer: the Rolls-Royce or Cullinan from your Manhattan residence to the heliport, the helicopter charter itself, and the second Rolls-Royce or Cullinan from East Hampton Airport to your weekend property. Each handoff is monitored in real-time by your client manager. No client coordination required between the three operators.
Why FFGR Versus Direct Booking
Direct helicopter charter platforms (Blade, Wheels Up) handle the flight only. You arrive at the heliport with luggage in a yellow cab, you arrive at HTO and find your own car. This is acceptable for a one-time experience. For a Hamptons regular making 12 to 20 trips per summer, the consistency and seamlessness of FFGR's three-leg coordination is what makes the difference between transit and transfer.
Booking and Allocation
FFGR Hamptons helicopter season runs Memorial Day through Labor Day, with peak demand Fridays 3-7pm and Sundays 5-9pm returning. We recommend booking summer season helicopter slots in March. Standing arrangement is available for clients with predictable weekly schedules — your slot is permanently reserved.
