The Most Complex Night in Los Angeles
Oscars night in Hollywood is not a standard elevated traffic event. The LAPD implements a 3-block security perimeter around the Dolby Theatre from the early afternoon, and only credentialed vehicles can access Hollywood Boulevard between Highland and Cahuenga. The red carpet runs from approximately 3pm through 7pm, concentrating vehicle arrivals into a four-hour window that the LAPD manages with a strict arrival sequence. FFGR USA obtains credential authorization through our established relationships with the Academy's ground transportation committee and positions vehicles within the authorized zone.
The Governor's Ball and After-Parties
The Academy's official post-ceremony dinner — the Governors Ball — takes place at the Dolby Theatre's Ray Dolby Ballroom on the same night. The unofficial circuit of industry after-parties follows across West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and the Sunset Strip. FFGR USA coordinates the full evening's transport: ceremony arrival, Governor's Ball departure (typically 11pm), and the after-party sequence that can extend to 3am at Soho House, The Bird Streets Club, and private residences in the Hills. Each departure is pre-planned and the chauffeur monitors your location via a discrete communication protocol agreed in advance.
Vehicle Selection
The Oscars red carpet is one of three occasions (along with the Met Gala and the State Dinner circuit) where FFGR USA recommends the Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended without reservation. The Phantom's arrival presence — the coach door, the fixed-hood ornament, the 21-foot silhouette — is appropriate to the ceremony's visual gravity in a way that a lesser vehicle is not. For the post-ceremony circuit where discretion is preferred, the Bentley Flying Spur or Ghost is standard. FFGR USA has never had a principal decline the vehicle recommendation for this evening.
