The JFK–Hamptons Corridor
The Long Island Expressway connects John F. Kennedy International Airport to the Hamptons in approximately 95 miles. The reality of that distance — on a Friday afternoon in July — is where private chauffeur service separates from all alternatives. Routing: Standard and Alternative
Our standard routing from JFK to Southampton: Van Wyck Expressway to the Belt Parkway East, exit to the Sunrise Highway (Route 27), and direct to Southampton Village. This avoids the LIE entirely for the first segment and often saves 20-35 minutes on weekend afternoons. From Southampton to East Hampton: Further Highway 27 East through Bridgehampton. For Montauk, we add another 20 minutes to East Hampton on Route 27. We monitor real-time traffic on both the LIE and Sunrise Highway and make the routing decision at the time of your JFK departure — not in advance.
Friday Afternoon Protocol
Friday afternoon departures from JFK between 2pm and 6pm require specific protocols. We schedule your chauffeur to arrive at JFK 30 minutes earlier than usual to position in the designated pickup zone before the Friday crush. For private aviation arrivals at Teterboro — a shorter route to the Hamptons via the Garden State Parkway to the Southern State — we coordinate tarmac-to-vehicle transfer at the FBO and route via Sunrise Highway from the Meadowbrook Parkway connection. TEB to East Hampton: approximately 105 minutes in standard Friday conditions.
Seasonal Amenities
FFGR Hamptons transfers during June through September include: chilled still and sparkling water, a selection of summer reading, and fresh beach towels on request. For Saturday morning departures from JFK, your chauffeur will have your preferred coffee order (from Sant Ambroeus Southampton, procured in advance of your arrival) waiting in the vehicle.
