Production Ended. Significance Did Not.
Bentley discontinued the Mulsanne in 2020. The final extended wheelbase example left the Mulliner workshop at Crewe on March 11, 2020 — the last hand-built Bentley grand saloon in the traditional sense. What remains is a fixed population of vehicles that will only appreciate in cultural significance. FFGR USA maintains the Mulsanne EWB in our fleet as a deliberate statement: we invest in vehicles that represent the apex of their form, not the current production run.
The Rear Cabin Standard
The Mulsanne EWB's rear cabin is calibrated in a manner that only bespoke production allows. Each hide is selected, cut and stitched at Crewe — not assembled from supplier components. The diamond-quilted leather pattern requires 150 hours of skilled stitching per vehicle. The rear seating extends to full recline with calf support; the picnic tables retract from the front seatbacks with a single switch. The theatre system is a 12-speaker Naim for Bentley audio installation — tuned to the specific acoustic characteristics of the Mulsanne cabin.
Mulliner Specification Details
Our Mulsanne EWB is finished in Hallmark Silver with Pillarbox Red hide interior — a combination that signals immediate expertise to those familiar with the Mulliner palette. The headlining is Alcantara. The clock on the dashboard is a Breitling mechanical unit. Seat heaters are programmable to four temperature settings, retained between journeys via a preferred profile system available to recurring FFGR clients.
When to Choose the Mulsanne
The Mulsanne EWB is appropriate for: formal diplomatic engagements where the vehicle must communicate institutional gravitas, long-distance chauffeured journeys where rear comfort is the primary requirement, evening events at the Metropolitan Opera or Lincoln Center where arrival matters, and as the preferred vehicle for principals who explicitly understand and appreciate British coachbuilding heritage. It is not, in our view, an airport transfer vehicle — though we will accommodate that request.
